Singapore is preparing to turn an entire month of December into a citywide BTS experience, expanding four stadium concerts into one of the largest entertainment-led destination programmes the city has ever staged. The Singapore Tourism Board (STB) and HYBE will bring BTS THE CITY ARIRANG SINGAPORE to the city from December 1 to 31. STB describes it as the largest island-wide fan activation ever held for any recording artist in Singapore and the first edition of the THE CITY ARIRANG concept in Southeast Asia.
The programme will build around BTS' four sold-out concerts at the National Stadium on December 17, 19, 20 and 22, but most of the activity will take place outside the stadium. Jewel Changi Airport, Sentosa, Universal Studios Singapore, National Gallery Singapore, National Museum of Singapore, Mandai Wildlife Reserve, The Kallang and Zouk Singapore are among the locations involved. Marina Bay and Singapore River landmarks will also join the programme.
The result is a very different event model from a traditional concert residency. Instead of asking fans to arrive for the performance and leave afterwards, Singapore is creating activities that can influence where visitors go, what they do and how long they remain in the destination. For the events and tourism sectors, that is what makes the project significant. The concert is the main attraction, but the city itself becomes part of the event.

From Changi Airport To Sentosa
The programme begins as soon as visitors arrive. Jewel Changi Airport's Rain Vortex will feature a themed light and music show, giving international fans their first BTS-related experience before they leave the airport. At Sentosa, the programme expands further. Plans include a BTS-themed rave, drone show, race and immersive installations. Universal Studios Singapore will stage a fireworks display choreographed to BTS music alongside other themed experiences.
Mandai Wildlife Reserve will also join the activation through a takeover of Exploria, its immersive multimedia attraction. The approach creates multiple reasons for visitors to move through different parts of Singapore rather than concentrating activity around the National Stadium. That movement is important for the visitor economy. A concert audience may generate strong demand around one venue for several nights. A citywide programme can spread that demand across attractions, restaurants, nightlife, transport and retail in different areas. It also gives fans something to do between concert dates, particularly international visitors who may stay in Singapore for several days.
Museums And Landmarks Become Part Of The Experience
Cultural institutions are also being included. National Gallery Singapore will create an art trail connecting BTS music with works from its Pop after Pop: Art around Us exhibition. The National Museum of Singapore will introduce themed light and sound installations. These activations take the event outside the traditional entertainment sector and bring museums into the same visitor journey.
Singapore's urban landscape will also become part of the visual programme. From December 8 to 22, landmarks around Marina Bay and the Singapore River will light up each evening in ARIRANG red. Participating locations include Gardens by the Bay, Singapore Flyer, Helix Bridge, The Fullerton Hotel Singapore, The Ritz-Carlton Millenia Singapore and several bridges along the river.
For visitors, the effect is designed to make the BTS presence visible even when they are not attending a formal activation. For Singapore, it creates highly recognisable visual content connecting the artist with the destination itself. That distinction is valuable in destination marketing. Instead of social media showing only a concert stage or stadium crowd, content can feature some of Singapore's best-known landmarks within the event identity.

Nightlife Extends The Programme Beyond The Concert
The programme also reaches Singapore's nightlife sector. Zouk Singapore will host opening and closing night takeovers with dedicated music and experiential programming. Other night-time activities across Sentosa and Marina Bay will extend the programme beyond normal attraction hours.
STB specifically sees this as an opportunity to add more activity to Singapore's night-time economy. The strategy also creates different entry points into the event. Not every visitor needs a concert ticket to participate. Someone without access to the National Stadium shows can still visit installations, attend nightlife programmes, see the city illuminations or experience themed attractions.
That opens the event to a much larger audience than the stadium capacity alone. It also allows commercial and tourism partners to take part in the event without being directly involved in concert production. For brands, attractions and venues, the larger THE CITY programme creates additional opportunities around an audience that is already travelling because of one major cultural event.
