Privacy Policy

IMWF Insider values the protection of its visitors' personal data. This policy explains which personal data is processed, for what purposes and on which legal grounds, under Law No. 6698 on the Protection of Personal Data (KVKK).

1. Data Controller

Pursuant to Article 3 of the KVKK, the data controller is International MICE and Wedding Forum (IMWF).

2. Personal Data Processed

  • Connection data: IP address, browser type and version, operating system, referring URL and session information (via strictly necessary cookies).
  • Usage data: Pages visited, time spent on each page and click behavior (for anonymous/aggregate statistical purposes).
  • Contact data: The full name and email address of visitors who contact us by email (only where visitors share them on their own initiative).
  • Newsletter subscription data: Email address (only with explicit consent).

3. Purposes of Processing

  • Ensuring the technical operation and security of the Site.
  • Compiling usage statistics and improving content.
  • Responding to contact requests.
  • Sending the newsletter.
  • Fulfilling legal obligations.

4. Legal Grounds

Personal data is processed pursuant to Article 5(2) of the KVKK on the following legal grounds: the establishment and performance of a contract, compliance with a legal obligation, the legitimate interests of IMWF Insider (analytics and security) and, where required, the explicit consent of the visitor.

5. Data Transfers

Personal data may be transferred to infrastructure providers located in Türkiye and abroad (servers, CDN, email delivery) and to analytics service providers, only to the extent required by the purpose of processing. Where requested by legal authorities, data is shared in the manner required by law. Apart from these cases, no data is shared with third parties.

6. Retention Periods

Data is retained for as long as the purpose of processing requires. Newsletter data is retained until the subscription is canceled; connection/log records are retained for the period prescribed by law (a maximum of 2 years). Once the retention period expires, data is deleted, destroyed or anonymized.

7. Rights of the Data Subject (Article 11 of the KVKK)

As a data subject, you have the right to:

  • learn whether your personal data is processed;
  • request information about the processing if your personal data has been processed;
  • learn the purpose of the processing and whether your data is used in line with that purpose;
  • know the third parties in Türkiye or abroad to whom your data is transferred;
  • request the rectification of your data if it has been processed incompletely or inaccurately;
  • request the erasure or destruction of your data in accordance with the law;
  • object to the analysis of your data exclusively through automated systems; and
  • claim compensation for any damage you suffer as a result of unlawful processing.

8. How to Submit a Request

To exercise your rights under the KVKK, you can send your request to [email protected] in accordance with the Communiqué on the Procedures and Principles of Application to the Data Controller. Your application will be answered within 30 days at the latest.

9. Changes to This Policy

This policy may be revised by IMWF Insider in line with changes in legislation or updates to processing activities. The current version takes effect from the date it is published on the Site.
