Switzerland to fund 10 film festivals between 2027 and 2029

Switzerland will support 10 film festivals with CHF 4 million between 2027 and 2029, the Swiss Federal Office of Culture (BAK) announced.

Switzerland to fund 10 film festivals between 2027 and 2029

In a statement, BAK said that the support is the same as for the 2022-2026 period. Emphasizing the importance of supporting film festivals of national importance, BAK highlighted that film festivals provide a wide audience with access to diverse and high-quality films and increase interest in the diversity of Swiss and international filmmaking.

BAK also shared the list of film festivals that will receive support. The list includes the Locarno Film Festival, Visions du Réel, Solothurn Film Festival, Zurich Film Festival, Fantoche, Fribourg International Film Festival, Winterthur International Short Film Festival, Neuchâtel International Fantastic Film Festival, Geneva International Film Festival and Alpin Les Diablerets.
