According to a statement from GCCEC, recurring events at the convention and exhibition centre, which is entering its 23rd year, account for more than 60 percent of its business activity. The centre is estimated to have contributed $383 million to the Gold Coast economy during the 2026 financial year.
Events held throughout the year covered a wide range of sectors, including healthcare and medicine, education, and retail.
GCCEC Director Nick Jeffrey said the centre’s economic contribution extends beyond event attendance.
“Attendees are not just attending an event; they are staying in our hotels, dining at local restaurants, visiting attractions and experiencing the city firsthand. This creates opportunities for repeat visits, future investment and greater recognition of the Gold Coast as a business events destination,” Jeffrey said.
