The agreement was signed during Arabian Travel Market (ATM) 2026 in Dubai. According to a statement from Etihad Airways, the agreement aims to promote tourism in Uzbekistan through Etihad’s extensive global network. Under the agreement, the two organizations will cooperate on marketing, promotional activities and commercial initiatives aimed at increasing awareness of Uzbekistan among the airline’s international passengers.
Commenting on the agreement, Etihad Airways CEO Antonoaldo Neves said, “Uzbekistan is one of the most exciting new markets in our network, as demonstrated by the daily flights we launched to Tashkent this year, and this is further reinforced by the cooperation agreement we have signed with the Uzbekistan Tourism Committee to promote leisure travel.”
Abdulaziz Akkulov, Chairman of the Uzbekistan Tourism Committee, said:
“Uzbekistan’s tourism sector continues to demonstrate steady growth. From January to August 2026, 9.1 million foreign tourists visited the country, while tourism services exports reached US$4.6 billion. Our priority is not only to sustain this growth, but also to expand the scope of tourist traffic to the country, improve access to destinations across Uzbekistan and strengthen the country’s presence in international tourism markets. This Memorandum will support our efforts to advance these priorities and attract more international visitors to Uzbekistan.”
