According to a statement from Emirates, the Travel Rehearsal events are designed to support neurodivergent travelers and their families in flying with confidence by providing airport and in-flight simulations. The Travel Rehearsal events were held in Brisbane, Melbourne and Perth, Australia. The initial sessions in each city were attended by 18 participants and their families.
At the event in Perth, participants completed a comprehensive end-to-end simulation covering everything from check-in, passport control and security screening to a visit to a sensory room. They then visited a stationary aircraft for a safety briefing and cabin familiarization.
Events to Expand Across Australia
Emirates Regional Sales Manager Dean Cleaver said in a statement: “‘Fly Better’ is our promise to every passenger, and we are incredibly proud to bring the Travel Rehearsal initiative to Australia. These events are the result of our great collaboration with airport partners and local community advocates who share our vision of truly accessible travel. We have already held these events in Melbourne and Brisbane, and Perth was a truly special event, with participants also embracing the concept. We are genuinely excited about this initiative and will continue to roll it out across all of our Australian gateways.”
