Maxx Royal Bodrum hosts three-day Indian wedding with 350 guests and seven events

Bodrum's position in the international luxury tourism market is also reflected in growing demand for destination weddings and private events. Alongside groups from the Middle East, Europe and CIS countries, increasing interest from the Indian market is bringing multi-day wedding celebrations featuring diverse cultural traditions to the forefront. A large-scale Indian wedding held at Maxx Royal Bodrum in early October illustrates the scale these celebrations have reached.

Maxx Royal Bodrum General Manager Emre Ülgüner described the event as a significant experience in the international destination wedding market, stating, "In early October, we hosted a magnificent Indian wedding at Maxx Royal Bodrum, welcoming 350 guests over three days and featuring seven different events. We managed the entire process, from traditional ceremonies to culinary experiences and entertainment programs, in line with the couple's cultural traditions and personal expectations. This event became an important reference demonstrating our ability to manage large-scale, multi-layered weddings at an international level."

Commenting on Bodrum's growing position in the international events market, Ülgüner highlighted the increasing geographical diversity of demand and changing expectations among high-end travelers. "In the MICE and destination wedding sectors, we are seeing growing demand particularly from the Middle East, Europe and CIS countries, as well as increasing interest from the Indian market in recent years. Guest expectations are also changing significantly. Simply offering a good event venue is no longer enough; accommodation, gastronomy, entertainment, personalized services and the destination experience are now expected to come together as a complete offering," Ülgüner said.

Project-Based Management for Multi-Day Weddings

International weddings attended by hundreds of guests and spanning several days require extensive operations beyond accommodation services. Bringing together cultural ceremonies, culinary programs, entertainment activities and guest services within a single event requires coordinated planning across multiple departments. Explaining that Maxx Royal Bodrum manages such events through a project-based approach, Ülgüner said, "At Maxx Royal Bodrum, we implement a project-based management model for multi-day, personalized events enriched with different experiences, ensuring close coordination between sales, operations, culinary, accommodation, guest relations, technical and security departments. Each event involves a dedicated planning process, with the entire operation shaped around the host's expectations and the guests' needs."

Beyond accommodation and dining, the planning process can incorporate a variety of experiences both within the resort and across Bodrum. For international groups in particular, addressing different guest expectations within the same event is becoming increasingly important.

Emphasizing that event programs are tailored to each couple's preferences, Ülgüner said, "Our suite, lagoon and villa accommodation options cater to different needs, while personalized menus inspired by international cuisines can be created. Entertainment programs, special performances, wellness experiences, yacht and helicopter tours, and activities exploring Bodrum's natural beauty can also be incorporated into the program. Our goal is not simply to deliver a successful event, but to transform the entire stay, from the moment guests arrive in Bodrum until their departure, into a complete and unforgettable experience."

Different Venues for Different Events

Open-air spaces and dining venues with distinct concepts are central to Maxx Royal Bodrum's event infrastructure. Celeste Event Terrace, waterfront venues and restaurants overlooking the Aegean Sea can accommodate a wide range of occasions, from boutique meetings and brand launches to corporate events and destination weddings attended by hundreds of guests. Highlighting the flexibility provided by venue diversity for multi-day weddings, Ülgüner said, "Especially for multi-day wedding celebrations, the ability to host different events at various locations within the resort offers a significant advantage. Welcome cocktails, henna nights, wedding ceremonies, gala dinners, after-parties and brunches can all be arranged in different settings, offering guests a new experience each day."

Experience gained from international events previously hosted by the Maxx Royal brand also contributes to event planning in Bodrum. Managing large groups, incorporating different concepts into a single celebration and coordinating personalized services are among the key elements of this expertise.

Referring to the brand's experience in international wedding celebrations, Ülgüner said, "As the Maxx Royal brand, we have been hosting major international events and destination weddings for many years. The operational expertise, project management approach and guest-focused service philosophy developed through these experiences have established a consistent quality standard across all our properties."

Privacy in the Middle East, Boutique Celebrations in Europe

In the international destination wedding market, the expectations of groups from different countries influence the duration, content and planning of events. The Middle East, Europe and CIS countries are among Maxx Royal Bodrum's strongest source markets, while the Indian wedding segment is also showing increasing potential.

Explaining how cultural differences directly influence event preferences, Ülgüner said, "Each market has a different approach to celebrations. In the Middle East, privacy and family-oriented gatherings take priority, while European guests tend to prefer boutique, experience-driven celebrations. In CIS countries, entertainment and social programs play a more prominent role. Indian weddings stand apart with their multi-day programs, ranging from traditional ceremonies to gala evenings, which require extensive coordination."

Indian weddings, in particular, require more detailed operational planning as traditional ceremonies, themed gatherings and entertainment programs are brought together within a single celebration. Alongside meeting cultural expectations, coordinating accommodation and social activities for different guest groups is also essential.

Highlighting the resort's approach to varying international demands, Ülgüner said, "We are able to successfully manage this diversity in demand through Maxx Royal Bodrum's flexible service philosophy and personalized approach."

Bodrum's Position in the International Events Market

Competition in the high-end destination wedding market extends beyond the accommodation and event facilities offered by individual properties. For celebrations spanning several days, a destination's gastronomy, entertainment and cultural attractions are increasingly becoming part of the overall event program. Assessing Bodrum's international position from this perspective, Ülgüner said, "As experience-driven travel expectations among high-end guests continue to rise, Bodrum's natural beauty, vibrant culinary scene, luxury accommodation options and transportation advantages have elevated the destination's position. Today, Bodrum has become a strong alternative alongside the Aegean's leading luxury destinations, thanks to its distinctive lifestyle and diversity of experiences."

Explaining how Maxx Royal Bodrum incorporates the destination's offerings into its event programs and resort facilities, Ülgüner said, "Maxx Royal Bodrum brings together the Aegean's natural beauty, culinary diversity and entertainment culture with event venues offering different concepts, luxury accommodation options and personalized services, transforming multi-day wedding celebrations into exclusive gatherings that are closely connected to the destination."

International Discussions Underway for the 2027 Season

International destination weddings and high-end private events remain important priorities in Maxx Royal Bodrum's future strategy. Discussions are ongoing for international weddings, private gatherings and corporate events in the 2027 season, with the resort aiming to prioritize the quality of events rather than simply increasing their number. Commenting on the resort's growth ambitions in international markets, Ülgüner said, "We expect Maxx Royal Bodrum to continue growing in the destination wedding and events segment. We are particularly focused on increasing our visibility in international markets, strengthening Bodrum's position as a wedding and events destination, and attracting more high-end events to our portfolio."

Highlighting plans to attract events from different international markets in the upcoming season, Ülgüner said, "For the international weddings, private gatherings and corporate events currently under discussion for the 2027 season, our strategy is not simply to increase the number of events. Instead, we aim to host exclusive celebrations that highlight Maxx Royal Bodrum's luxury experience, personalized service philosophy and the destination's distinctive character."

Emphasizing that increasing Bodrum's international visibility is also among the resort's long-term priorities, Ülgüner said, "In the long term, we aim to further strengthen Maxx Royal Bodrum's position as one of the Aegean's most prestigious destinations for weddings and private events, while contributing to Bodrum's visibility in the global events industry."
