Long known primarily as a leisure tourism destination, Didim is now seeking to establish a stronger position in the MICE and destination wedding markets. Located on the Delice Peninsula, Anda Barut Collection is emerging as one of the key properties contributing to this transformation through its scale, event infrastructure and investments in international events.
Anda Barut Collection Commercial Director Samuray Önen emphasized that Didim offers a different proposition from more established event destinations such as Istanbul, Antalya and Izmir, highlighting the region’s Aegean identity as a significant advantage for international events. “Didim is entering a new phase in its journey as a destination. Traditionally known for leisure tourism, the region has the potential to become a distinctive destination for international MICE events and destination weddings, particularly for organizers seeking a fresh, elegant and experience-driven Aegean destination. Didim’s tranquil atmosphere, coastal scenery, cultural heritage, ancient cities, local character and Aegean gastronomy allow events to extend beyond the confines of a single venue,” she said.
Önen also noted that Bodrum and Izmir Adnan Menderes airports play an important role in Didim’s accessibility to international markets, adding that Anda Barut Collection combines Barut Hotels’ 55 years of hospitality experience with the region’s distinctive Aegean identity.

Event Capacity for Up to 1,000 Guests
Spanning a total usable area of 147,000 square meters, Anda Barut Collection features 547 rooms, 1,190 beds and 13 villas. Highlighting how the property’s scale allows accommodation, meetings and social programs for large groups to be organized within a single location, Önen said, “Anda Barut Collection is designed to accommodate different guest profiles, event formats and expectations within a single property. This allows accommodation, meetings, outdoor gatherings, gala dinners, wellness programs and private celebrations to be planned as integrated experiences spanning several days.”
Highlighting Didim Hall as a key component of the resort’s meeting infrastructure, Önen noted that the venue covers more than 1,075 square meters and can accommodate 850 guests in theater-style seating, 560 in banquet configuration and up to 1,000 for receptions. “This infrastructure offers flexible options for congresses, corporate events, product launches, incentive groups, gala dinners and large-scale celebrations. The hotel’s coastal location, culinary diversity and social facilities also enable us to meet organizers’ varying expectations in terms of both capacity and event content,” she said.

IMWF to Bring International Professionals to Didim
Anda Barut Collection will also host the ninth edition of the International MICE & Wedding Forum (IMWF) this year. Bringing together MICE and wedding professionals from around the world in Didim, the event will provide an important platform for positioning the destination in the international market.
Emphasizing that IMWF represents a significant opportunity not only for the property but also for Didim’s visibility in the international events market, Önen said, “Bringing MICE and wedding professionals from different parts of the world to Didim will allow decision-makers who shape future demand and destination choices to experience the region firsthand. Seeing and experiencing a destination in person creates a far stronger impression than any presentation.”
Önen added that forum participants would have the opportunity to experience the Delice Peninsula’s coastline, natural surroundings, cultural heritage, gastronomy and climate firsthand. “IMWF represents an important opportunity for Didim to gain recognition not only as a leisure destination but also as a distinctive alternative in the international wedding, MICE and events markets. At the same time, we will be able to showcase Anda Barut Collection’s capacity, event infrastructure and organizational approach directly to international planners, agencies and decision-makers,” she said.

Weddings Are Evolving Beyond Single-Day Celebrations
Changing expectations among couples and their guests are expanding both the duration and scope of destination weddings. Highlighting how Anda Barut Collection’s extensive grounds, private coastal area and diverse event venues allow weddings to be organized as multi-day programs, Önen said, “Destination weddings are no longer just about offering a beautiful setting. They require privacy, a seamless program flow, service quality and the flexibility to accommodate different guest profiles over several days. Welcome cocktails, rehearsal dinners, wedding ceremonies, gala dinners, after-parties, farewell brunches and private family gatherings can all be arranged in different locations throughout the resort, each offering a distinct atmosphere.”
Önen also noted that having separate areas for different guest profiles within the same wedding group provides an important advantage. She explained that the resort’s Adult, Family and Community sections cater to a wide range of preferences, from families with children to adults seeking a quieter accommodation experience.

Event Calendar as Part of Destination Positioning
Anda Barut Collection’s event program, spanning gastronomy, music, art, wellness, sports and dance, also plays an important role in the property’s positioning. Emphasizing that these programs are not viewed merely as daily activities for hotel guests, Önen said, “We see our event calendar as part of our brand identity and the resort’s positioning as an event destination. Today’s MICE and destination wedding guests expect more than a well-designed venue. Atmosphere, emotional connection and the relationship with the destination are becoming increasingly important.”
Önen explained that corporate meetings can be complemented by culinary programs, wellness activities or live performances, while destination weddings can similarly incorporate a variety of experiences spread across several days as part of the overall guest experience.

Personalization Will Become Increasingly Important
Önen highlighted a significant shift in the MICE and destination wedding markets toward more personalized and destination-specific events rather than standardized programs. She noted that companies increasingly want events to reflect their brand culture, while couples seek celebrations that express their personal stories.
Emphasizing that event venues are no longer evaluated solely on their meeting facilities or scenic settings, Önen said, “The value of a property is measured by how effectively it brings together technology, service, gastronomy, wellness, entertainment and the character of the destination. Companies want events that reflect their brand culture, while couples want celebrations that tell their own stories. This means every detail, from the program flow and gastronomy to music and venue design, needs to be thoughtfully planned and personalized rather than standardized.”
Önen added that Anda Barut Collection’s diverse event spaces, culinary offerings, wellness facilities and operational infrastructure have been designed to meet these evolving expectations, noting that the resort aims to contribute to strengthening Didim’s position in the international MICE and destination wedding markets in the coming years.
