According to data released by the Saudi Ministry of Tourism, the number of visitors to the Kingdom reached 37.2 million during the first quarter of 2026, marking an 8% increase compared with the same period last year. During the same period, total visitor spending amounted to SAR 82.7 billion, while domestic tourism recorded 16% growth.
Strong Growth in Domestic Tourism
World Travel Market (WTM) stated that this growth reflects strong domestic demand for Saudi Arabia's expanding tourism offerings and growing confidence in the future of the country's tourism sector.
In 2025, Saudi Arabia welcomed approximately 123 million domestic and international visitors, generating more than SAR 304 billion in tourism spending.
According to tourism data, demand has remained strong since March 2026, driven particularly by Jeddah and the city's strategic location on the Red Sea coast. This momentum has led to upward revisions in growth forecasts, with the sector's recovery expected to continue throughout 2027.
