According to a statement from TPB, the event began with a ceremonial gong-striking ceremony at the Conrad Manila hotel in Pasay. This year’s event carries the theme “Connecting Markets, Creating Opportunities: From Dialogue to Collaboration through Sustainable Tourism Partnerships.” The event will conclude on September 9, followed by familiarization trips from September 10-14.
PHITEX was first held in 1996. The event aims to strengthen connections between Philippine tourism stakeholders and global markets, develop competitive products, deepen engagement with markets and create sustainable opportunities for local communities.
TPB emphasized that it is placing particular importance on fostering meaningful B2B interactions between 74 international buyers and 102 Philippine sellers.
