New trend in tourism: Escaping from big cities to small towns

The report stated that in 2025, Generation Z, in particular, preferred visiting towns instead of large and busy destinations. It also emphasized that young Americans were 67 percent more likely than other travelers to choose towns as their travel destinations. This emerging trend is called “Townsizing.”

Visitors Are Starting to Prefer a More Relaxing Experience

It is noted that individuals living in metropolitan areas are turning toward a calmer and slower-paced holiday style due to the pressures of fast-paced urban life and feelings of being overwhelmed. Travelers are choosing to spend more relaxing and authentic time in small towns, where they encounter fewer distractions and stimuli.
