The report, shared by the EIC and based on 2025 data, stated that business events gathered 1.65 billion participants from 180 countries and generated USD 1.3 trillion in direct spending. It also noted that, including indirect and induced activities, the sector contributed a total of USD 3.1 trillion in business turnover, added USD 1.8 trillion to global GDP, and supported 24.2 million jobs worldwide.

The report is based on a global survey covering more than 1,600 event organizers, venues, destination marketing organizations, and suppliers. Commenting on the report, EIC President and CEO Amy Calvert said, “Business events are a vital part of the infrastructure that supports economic growth, workforce development, innovation, and global competitiveness.”
