Amsterdam will host one of the world’s largest gatherings of the electronic music industry from October 21-25, 2026. The 30th edition of Amsterdam Dance Event will extend far beyond concerts and nightlife, spreading conference, networking, technology, art and cultural programmes across different parts of the city.
The 2026 programme includes more than 3,600 artists, over 1,300 events and more than 300 venues across Amsterdam. ADE stands out for connecting clubs, museums, concert halls and cultural institutions within a single event network rather than concentrating activity in one festival site.
Festival and Business Come Together in the Same Programme
One of the main elements that sets ADE apart from traditional music festivals is the way it brings the entertainment programme and the business side of the industry together within the same structure. Through ADE Pro, artists, managers, record labels, technology companies, investors and other electronic music professionals meet during a four-day conference programme. Pro Pass holders also gain access to networking events, matchmaking sessions and official Business Hub areas.
The event’s history also reflects this transformation. ADE began in 1996 with three nightlife venues and around 250 industry professionals. Today, it has developed into a global industry platform bringing together more than 10,000 professionals.

More Than 300 Venues Become One Event Space
Another feature that distinguishes ADE is the way it uses Amsterdam itself as a single festival environment. The 2026 programme extends beyond clubs and concert halls to museums, churches, record stores and cultural institutions. Venues such as Wereldmuseum Amsterdam, Museum Ons’ Lieve Heer op Solder, Fabrique des Lumières and Felix Meritis will also be part of the ADE Arts & Culture programme.
This model distributes visitor movement across different neighbourhoods and businesses rather than concentrating it within a single exhibition or festival site. Accommodation, transport, food and beverage, and the night-time economy also become natural parts of the event calendar.
Last Year Attracted 600,000 Visitors
ADE’s 2025 edition reached the highest visitor numbers in the event’s history. Around 600,000 people attended events over five days, while nearly 3,500 artists performed across more than 1,200 events. The programme was spread across more than 300 locations throughout Amsterdam.
This scale shows how ADE has moved beyond being a festival aimed only at electronic music fans. Artists, music companies, technology startups, organisers and industry professionals gather in Amsterdam during the same week, allowing the city to function both as a festival destination and an international business event hub.

The Programme Expands Further for the 30th Edition
ADE’s 2026 edition is expanding its festival and cultural programme to mark the event’s 30th anniversary. The line-up includes Martin Garrix, Armand Van Helden, Boys Noize, Jamie Jones, Pete Tong, Len Faki and many other international artists, alongside collaborations that extend beyond electronic music into art and culture.
At the same time, the ADE Startups programme is bringing music technology startups together with industry professionals and investors. Eight music technology startups selected for the 2026 programme have joined the Chorus entrepreneurship programme. Through this structure, Amsterdam Dance Event operates for five days as a hybrid event model combining live performances, industry conferences, cultural programming and professional networking across the city.
