Set above the Ayung River Valley in Ubud, Alila Ubud can dedicate all 74 of its rooms and villas to the couple and their guests through its resort exclusivity option. With capacity for up to 150 guests, the resort becomes a private accommodation and event space for the duration of the wedding.

One Resort, One Wedding
Unlike a traditional wedding venue, the full-resort buyout model allows the entire celebration to take place within a single property. Alila Ubud’s current package includes exclusive use of the resort for three days and two nights, all 74 rooms and villas, a personalized ceremony, décor and a five-course dinner for up to 150 guests.
Different areas of the resort can also be used for different stages of the celebration. Poolside spaces, gardens, terraces and valley-facing locations can host the ceremony, reception or gatherings throughout the day. This transforms the wedding from a single-venue event into a multi-day celebration spread across the resort.

The Entire Wedding Programme Under One Roof
Reserving the entire resort also allows the wedding programme to extend beyond the ceremony and reception. Alila Ubud says the experience can include everything from welcome dinners and pre-wedding wellness activities to the ceremony, after-party and post-wedding brunch, all within the same property.
For destination weddings bringing together guests from different countries, the model combines accommodation, events and the group experience under one roof. With guests able to take part in the entire wedding programme without moving between different hotels, the approach also changes the logistics of managing a destination wedding.
A New Approach to Luxury Weddings: The Entire Resort
Alila Ubud’s offering is an example of the growing resort buyout approach in the destination wedding sector. Here, luxury is defined not only by the characteristics of the wedding venue, but by giving the entire property exclusively to the couple and their guests.
The Ayung River Valley, tropical forests and outdoor spaces also become part of the event’s setting. Alila Ubud’s design approach emphasizes the surrounding natural environment rather than transforming the property with heavy decoration.
In this model, the destination wedding becomes more than a ceremony held on a specific day. It evolves into a private resort experience combining accommodation, dining and social events throughout the stay.
